About the Project
The service provides individual support and group activities for people who are suffering with mental health and/or substance use issues. Our hubs are based at Tŷ Harrington in Pentre, Gellideg Well Being Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, YMA Pontypridd and Cynon Linc in Aberdare. The service promotes independence and education and positively works towards the overall wellbeing of the individual on their road to recovery through therapeutic activities and education. Our hubs are service-user-led and are a safe and friendly place where your voice will always be heard.
Who do we support?
We support individuals aged 18 or over whose lead needs are mental health and substance use. We support service users in our local hubs and in their local communities.
How do we do it?
We support service users on their road to recovery by offering a therapeutic, friendly, fun timetable delivered through all hubs mentioned in Cwm Taff Morgannwg. We pride ourselves on promoting the independence of our service users whilst engaging in meaningful activities and connecting them with their local communities. We also offer service users person-centred individual support sessions in our community hubs. We offer service users and their carers free transport to mental health outpatient appointments, and we also offer free transport to take carers to visit their loved ones in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Our service also offers signposting to services within the community that are beneficial to our service users. We also offer a professional mental health money advice service to aid our service users with benefits and who are experiencing financial hardship.
Referral
We take referrals from professionals and we also take self-referrals. We cover all of Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.
