About the Project
Carmarthenshire Day Services and the Tŷ Aman Centre in Ammanford provide a wide range of opportunities and activities to help people recover from a serious mental illness. Groups are run in Carmarthen, Whitland and Llandovery and at our centre in Ammanford, while one-to-one sessions are also offered for more individualised support. These groups provide a safe and welcoming environment for members to be able to relax, feel listened to, and gain vital mental health support when needed.
We also provide a range of activities and courses, which include practical and emotional support.
Who do we support?
Anyone aged eighteen years old or over, living in Carmarthenshire, with a diagnosed Mental Health problem can be supported by our service.
How do we do it?
Our group sessions provide structure, encourage social interaction, and the development of skills, confidence and artistic abilities in every user. All groups go on a trip once a month with the destination decided by clients at a monthly meeting. The Tŷ Aman centre also has physical activity groups as well as a gardening session every Thursday, where group members learn to grow a variety of fruit and vegetables. The one-to-one support we offer is tailored to address issues that can facilitate recovery and improve quality of life for those being cared for.
Staff use the Adferiad wellbeing wheel to look at various areas of the client’s life to see where improvements can be made, providing individualised support.
