Elissa attended our Parkland Place rehabilitation unit in North Wales following a 6-year struggle with gambling dependency, which started when she began partaking in gambling online.
“I came here because my gambling addiction became too much, and I ended up losing everything.”
“I started gambling when I discovered online gambling, this is where it really took off. I hid my addiction from my wife for 6 years but eventually, it all came out. By that point, I had nowhere to turn and was feeling suicidal.”
“I didn’t know there was anything out there to help people with gambling problems, and by luck, I found Adferiad.”
Elissa made incredible progress throughout her treatment at Parkland Place which empowered her to abstain from gambling and took advantage of counselling provisions which helped her to rediscover her confidence and sense of self-worth.
After coming out of rehab, Alyssa continued to receive support through Adferiad’s aftercare services which helped her to reclaim her life and maintain her recovery.
“From start to finish, I have always been involved with Adferiad, through the treatment, they provided me with counselling. They’ve given me aftercare, they’ve helped me find somewhere to live, they’ve helped me through a tribunal, just any help I needed, they gave me.”
“They gave me this feeling of self-worth.”
