About the Project
CAMFA 14+ is an extension of our CAMFA service, supporting people in the six counties of North Wales, this being Gwynedd, Ynys Môn, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. It’s a service for people who are concerned about their own drug and / or alcohol use and need support in remaining drug and / or alcohol-free. We are also a service for those who have been affected by the substance use of a family member.
This service can be delivered either face-to-face, online or by telephone, between Monday and Friday, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. But we do offer some evening appointments also, to meet people’s needs.
Who do we support?
It’s a therapeutic service for people aged 14 – 25 years old needing specialist substance use psychological interventions. We offer a wide range of interventions, from one-to-one counselling support, motivational interviewing, and extended brief interventions to cognitive behavioural therapy.
How do we do it?
Clients can be offered up to 12 sessions of psychological interventions to help with their recovery. We have a range of venues for face-to-face delivery in the six counties in which we deliver. As part of the service, people can have inward referrals dependent on age to the recovery groups which include MOIMR, Nudge and Pathways to Recovery, other services that help people in their recovery. We can offer self-help guides and other materials as appropriate whilst waiting for a therapist to become available, and can also signpost to other internal and external services as needed. This service is offered in both Welsh and English.
Referral
To access the service you can either self-refer or do so via a professional i.e. teacher, GP, social worker etc. Referrals from family members are also accepted, but with the consent of the young person, as long as you reside in one of the six counties of North Wales, and have a GP in the same area also.
If you would like to request more information or to discuss the referral process with us, please get in contact using the phone or email address above, or alternatively contact 03450 612112
