About the Project

The Powys Young Person’s Substance Use Team are based across Powys, with our main office in Builth Wells at the Royal Welsh Showground. Our service is important because we support young people within their communities with difficulties around substances.

Who do we support?

We support young people from age 10 to 18 years old. We offer information, support, and advice to young people about their own substance use or if they are affected by a loved one’s problematic substance use. We also offer education sessions in secondary schools. We can meet service users wherever preferred.

How do we do it?

We support young people who may be struggling with their own substance use and we discover ways to help them to cut down or quit their use. We deliver lessons in schools to give secondary school pupils information and advice around the dangers and risks of substances. We also support young people whose families may be using substances problematically. We offer emotional support and advice to young people and families.
