Adferiad are delighted to announce the launch of our newest service, Flintshire Housing First! Building on the Housing First provision that Adferiad has delivered in Bridgend since 2022, this Housing Support Grant Funded service provides housing-related support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the county of Flintshire.
By building relationships with individuals with a history of disengaging from services who are experiencing a range of complex circumstances, the Housing First Service works with each individual to co-produce support plans that meet their specific needs. Focusing on strengths and goals and acting to reduce harm to individuals, the service supports some of Flintshire’s most at risk individuals to access and maintain secure, sustainable accommodation.
Available to those aged 16 and above who are experiencing homelessness, living in temporary accommodation, or are at risk of homelessness, the Flintshire Housing First Service also liaises with landlords, statutory bodies, and voluntary agencies in line with each individual’s requirements. With a commitment to providing timely and efficient support to those experiencing challenging circumstances such as mental ill-health, substance use, or offending behaviour, alongside housing-related difficulties, the Flintshire Housing First service aims to empower individuals on their journey towards independence, self-management, and recovery.
Naomii Oakley, Director of Operations (North), for Adferiad said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Flintshire County Council to deliver the new Housing First Project! Our dedicated support team will help individuals secure safe, permanent homes while providing personalised, wrap-around care to empower them to maintain stability. We can’t wait to support their journey and celebrate their steps toward a brighter, more secure future.”
The Flintshire Housing First service is available between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, with a flexible on-call provision being provided over weekends in line with demand. Referrals to the service can be made through Flintshire County Council’s Referral Pathway.
