About the Project
Diverse Cymru’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub offers recovery-based services for Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic people living in North and West Wales who are affected by mental ill-health. We take a holistic approach and use solution-focused methods that promote recovery, empowerment and independent living in the community. Our project also works to raise awareness of issues surrounding Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic mental health and to help reduce discrimination and inequality. We aim to offer understanding and non-judgmental support in areas which will help focus on recovery.
Who do we support?
We offer recovery-based services for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people aged 16 years and older living in North and West Wales who are affected by mental ill-health.
How do we do it?
We take a holistic approach, using solution-focused methods that promote recovery, empowerment and independent living in the community. We can offer:
- Individual support and advocacy, in person or online.
- Community support.
- Information and advice.
- Befriending and volunteering opportunities.
- Signposting for individuals, family members and carers.
- Hospital visits for inpatients.
Referral
Referrals are accepted from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, as well as asylum seekers/refugees. We work with people from the age of 16 years and over, living in West Wales and North Wales, who have mental ill-health. You can be referred through other agencies or self–refer through our online referral form at www.diversecymru.org.uk.
