About the Project

Flintshire Sorted Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Team work with individuals up to the age of 25 to minimise the impact of alcohol and substance-related harm on young people, their families and the community to enable them to lead healthy and crime-free lives. This service is only offered in the Flintshire area and is a partnership service between Adferiad and Flintshire Sorted.

Who do we support?

Flintshire Sorted offer a comprehensive service, covering universal, targeted and specialist needs. Prevention work is provided within schools and the community as well as targeted work for those young people at increased risk of using substances. Young people can be seen in a range of settings, such as schools, colleges, homes and community venues.

How do we do it?

Flintshire Sorted works with individuals and groups to develop and deliver tailored interventions with the aim of achieving substance-related goals. There are three streams to the service; firstly working with young people in all Flintshire secondary schools to educate and raise awareness of the risks of using drugs and alcohol. Secondly, we work with these young people in a more targeted way to provide bespoke intervention with an aim to divert a young person from criminal behaviour or substance use. Thirdly we offer a referral-based service for more intensive work with young people whose substance use is having a negative impact on their lives.

Eligibility / Referral Process

Young people between the ages of 8-25 years can be referred. We take referrals from young people directly as well as parents, schools and other agencies. Provided that the young person lives in, or is educated in Flintshire, we can accept a referral.

If you would like to request more information or to discuss the referral process with us, please get in contact using the phone or email address above.
