To coincide with World Mental Health Day, Adferiad has launched its 2024–2025 Annual Impact Report, showcasing some of our most valuable work and achievements from the past year.
The day was also marked with an open event at Brackla House, Bridgend, where Sarah Murphy MS paid tribute to Adferiad’s ongoing work and highlighted the importance of the day.
“This year’s World Mental Health Day theme is ‘Overwhelm: when global events and relentless bad news become too much.’ Here in Bridgend, on this most auspicious of days, we celebrate good news – good news that my constituents can access such brilliant services; good news that Adferiad can continue to deliver them; and indeed, good news that, in Wales at least, we continue the commitment to improving the quality of mental health services, called for some 31 years ago today. I thank Adferiad for your enduring role in delivering this.”
Chair of Trustees, Rev. Sue Northcott, opened the event by paying tribute to the dedicated work being delivered across Adferiad. She highlighted the diverse range of support the organisation provides — from gambling harm reduction, veterans’ support, housing and carers’ services, to employment, youth programmes, and mental health and substance use treatment.
“On behalf of our members, patrons and trustees, I extend my deepest gratitude to our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters. Together we will continue to affirm rights, challenge inequalities, and deliver for the people who need us most.”

The report also shares individual success stories, including those of Spencer, Lucy, and Elissa, celebrating the life-changing impact of Adferiad’s work.
The fundraising efforts of Wilson are also recognised — he raised over £2,000 for Adferiad’s causes, sharing his personal journey of overcoming alcohol issues that had affected his mental health from a young age. Wilson now hopes to inspire others and may soon be involved further in Adferiad’s work.
