About the Project
The Powys 16+ tenancy support service is based across Powys with a main office in Builth Wells at the Royal Welsh Showground. Our service is important because we support young people who are leaving local authority care to live independently.
Who do we support?
We support young people from the age of 16 years old. We meet young people wherever they would like and offer support with independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking skills, and to attend appointments such as with the job centre.
How do we do it?
We provide a person-centred approach, by assessing all support needs. Our support covers all areas of a young person’s life, from independent living skills, education/work, physical and mental health, well-being, to promoting healthy relationships, learning new skills, and developing and maintaining meaningful relationships. Through this our young people can make positive decisions and contribute/feel part of their local community.
