About the Project

Adferiad’s Merthyr Outreach Tenancy Support project is funded by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council via Housing Support Grant (HSG) funding. The service is a floating support service (with Dispersed Mental Health) for those with housing-related support needs.  The support will be for up to a six-month maximum period depending on need.

The service will provide a responsive, preventative and person-centred housing-related support service to enable individuals with housing-related support needs to live independently in their own homes. The focus of any housing-related interventions are to develop or sustain an individual’s capacity to live in their own accommodation and achieve increasing levels of independence.

We provide our services in a way that helps people to become more independent in every area of their life including:

  • Support to manage accommodation and feel safe
  • Support to manage relationships
  • Helping people to make choices and take positive risks
  • Support to go to social or leisure activities to feel part of the local community
  • Support to identify and access training and education
  • Support to gain employment and voluntary work
  • Support and signposting with budgeting, and financial matters
  • Help with managing physical matters
  • Help with managing mental health

The service is for individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
