About the Project
Adferiad works with Bridgend County Borough Council and partners to deliver Housing First through community-based support for individuals with complex needs across the county borough of Bridgend. Housing First is a unique approach aimed at helping to tackle homelessness by supporting people with complex and multiple needs into settled and stable homes. Housing First was introduced in Bridgend in 2019 and began with Adferiad in January 2022.
Who do we support?
The service provides housing-related support to individuals with a history of entrenched rough sleeping, or homelessness issues, for example, we engage with individuals who are rough sleeping or are in temporary accommodation to help source and maintain accommodation.
How do we do it?
The support focuses on each person’s strengths and aspirations to reduce harm, achieve a tenancy/occupancy contract and sustain their home and independence in their community. The Adferiad staff team support individuals with budgeting, and mental and physical health, along with support for those with substance use issues to liaise with treatment services in the borough.
Referral
Referrals for the service are via BCBC, however we are happy to discuss potential individuals to support prior to completion of council request for assistance.
