About the Project

Gwynedd Carers Service is designed to help unpaid carers who take care of loved ones dealing with mental health, substance use, and physical health issues. Our goal is to provide personalised support to each carer, both individually and in group settings while promoting their empowerment and independence. We offer various support mechanisms and help carers develop their skills and knowledge, so they feel more empowered and capable of meeting the needs of their loved ones while also maintaining their independence and wellbeing.

Our team adapts the level of support according to each carer’s capabilities and comfort, ensuring they receive the assistance they require for their caring role. The Gwynedd Resource Centre provides recovery-based activities and support through one-to-one support, groups, training and wellbeing planning.

Who do we support?

We offer support to adult carers, as well as friends and family of those supporting individuals aged over 18 with mental health and / or substance use issues.

How do we do it?

We understand that every carer faces unique circumstances, so we take a holistic approach and focus on their specific needs. We can offer a range of support, from individualised one-to-one support to carer support groups, which are a great way to meet and socialise with other carers. We can also provide information and support to help carers handle their finances or with education and employment. Our service can help carers find the most useful, relevant and up-to-date information for their circumstances. We even provide a range of opportunities for carers to take some time out for themselves, including support to access short breaks. All of these provide a range of flexible options to suit individual needs.

Referral
