About the Project
Carmarthenshire Carers Information & Support Service, based in Carmarthen, provides information and support to unpaid carers who care for a family member, friend, or neighbour. We are a preventative service offering a wide range of information to carers on an individualised basis, advising them on their rights and signposting them to other sources of support. Our overall aim is to connect carers with their local community, ensuring that their voice is heard.
Who do we support?
We specifically support carers of all backgrounds aged 18 or over. We offer a person-centred service to unpaid carers in Carmarthenshire who may benefit from an appointment with one of our Wellbeing Workers who can offer a wide range of information, advice and support.
How do we do it?
Our services are in keeping with the principles of the Social Services and Wellbeing Wales Act 2014, in that we ensure the carers we support can exert choice and control over their rights for an assessment as well as the individual they care for. We focus on the Carers’ overall wellbeing and how we can support them practically with preventative services. Genuine co-production is at the heart of all our service delivery, and we proactively develop a multi-agency approach to the support we deliver.
