About the Project
The Carmarthenshire Carers and Family Support Services provides one-to-one support, a telephone helpline and group support for carers of people with serious mental illness throughout Carmarthenshire.
Who do we support?
We support anyone supporting someone with a mental health problem in Carmarthenshire. We have carers groups running in Carmarthen (monthly) and Llanelli (fortnightly) where people can meet other carers in a relaxed environment to socialise and have some respite from their day-to-day caring role.
How do we do it?
Alongside one-to-one support, we provide a range of services which include: emotional and physical wellbeing projects, practical advice on carer’s issues and rights, signposting to other services, advice about mental health services, help to access a Carer’s Assessment, advocacy support, benefits help, respite opportunities, and grant applications.
Referral
Anyone aged 18 and over is eligible. Referrals can come from CMHT, GP’s, other Third sector organisations and self-referrals.
If you would like to discuss the referral process with us or request more information then please get in contact using the phone or email address above.
