About the Project
Our service supports residents of Cardiff and The Vale that have accessed the crisis, home treatment and CRU services. We provide support to individuals impacted by social stressors and mental illness. We aim to empower individuals to develop their own connections within the community and coping strategies so that they can use these skills when faced with future stressors. We use a holistic approach with our clients, utilising our Wellbeing Programme which covers all domains of life. This includes: mental health, wellbeing, physical health, education, housing and accommodation, and finances, alongside many more.
Who do we support?
We support individuals who have been referred to us via the crisis teams of CVUHB, which supports individuals experiencing mental illness crisis due to social circumstances and stressors.
How do we do it?
We offer a range of support. This might be linking individuals to other services such as Mental Health and Money Advice, housing support, third sector services and organisations, as well as education/training opportunities, BAME and LGBTQI+ services. Signposting individuals to support within the community is an important aspect of recovery and the benefits of feeling connected to the local community are key to this also. We also offer emotional support and advice on coping skills and strategies. Our interventions are client-centred and shaped by each person’s own unique goals and needs. Overall, we aim to work towards a person being empowered to take a lead in their own recovery and help them to develop the skills needed to manage stressors and their own emotional wellbeing.
