    One-to-One Counselling Sessions

Unpaid carers based in Caerphilly will be offered up to six free one-hour virtual counselling sessions, conducted by our highly qualified team of BACP-accredited counsellors from our ‘A Problem Shared’ service within our social enterprise. These sessions will focus on building resilience, enhancing coping strategies, and fostering personal growth. The main features of these sessions include:

Person-Centred Approach: Our counsellors employ a holistic, person-centred approach, emphasising empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. This approach is non-directive, allowing carers to lead the sessions and explore solutions that resonate with their unique experiences.

Flexible Delivery: Sessions can be scheduled at times convenient for carers, accommodating their demanding schedules. The remote nature of the service ensures accessibility, regardless of geographical location.

Tailored Support Plans: Each carer’s individual needs are assessed to develop a personalised support plan that focuses on enhancing self-esteem, fostering a sense of control, and promoting independence. The plans are designed to address social, emotional, and health-related factors impacting their mental well-being.

Wide Range of Therapies: Depending on the carer’s needs, our counsellors are equipped to provide various therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
