Today marks the launch of Adferiad’s five-year Strategy, a significant moment in the history of our organisation.
Following the success of our 2022-2025 strategy, developed after the merger of our founding charities, CAIS, Hafal, and WCADA, Adferiad builds on our core mission of delivering quality services by publishing a plan which sets out our vision and key objectives for the next 5 years. Aptly titled, “Towards a Fairer Future: A Strategy for Quality, Inclusivity, Innovation and Ambition in Recovery”, it clearly delineates what we do, why we do it, and how we deliver things our way.
The groundbreaking merger of our founding charities created an organisation uniquely placed to deliver services which meet concurrent needs; with the addition of Diverse Cymru, we further strengthened our expertise in equality, diversity, and inclusion. From mental health support and sanctuary services to detox and rehab, and everything else in between, Adferiad provides over 150 services that offer tailored, specialist support for people with complex needs who are facing challenging circumstances.
In addition to our service delivery, we are a campaigning organisation with a commitment to improving the lives of our members and service users right across Wales. The strategy sets out how we will work to amplify the voices of those who are often unheard, advocate for our members, and challenge the status quo by influencing policy and legislation. We do this because we are dedicated to driving systemic change to create a fairer, more compassionate society, where people receive the right support at the right time.
Everything we do, we do our way – The Adferiad Way. People are at the heart of all that we do, putting their needs first and tailoring our approach so that support can be accessed wherever and however they need it. As a rights-affirming organisation, we are committed to ensuring the rights of individuals is at the forefront of every aspect of our work.
All our work is built on three pillars – Voice, Innovative High-Quality Services and Being The Employer of Choice. These pillars are underpinned by our values of: working together, dignity and respect, learning and reflection, and a commitment to quality care and support. We are proud of what our organisation has achieved, and even more proud of our hardworking, dedicated staff who deliver time and time again. But we won’t rest on our laurels, so our strategy also sets how we will monitor our objectives over the next five years and evaluate our impact on members, service users and communities.
Chief Executive, Alun Thomas, said:
“I am delighted to publish our new five-year strategy, which sets out our plans to take our organisation forward. It makes clear our commitment to delivering high quality services for the people who need them the most, providing a voice for our members and service users to ensure improvements to policy and legislature, and to being the employer of choice for our wonderful staff teams. I must note my thanks to our multitude of partners, from the public, private and third sectors, who play such an integral part in helping to deliver our mission.”
