About the project

This service provides practical, specialist Domiciliary Care in the homes of children with complex health needs (often working in partnership with Hywel Dda Community Children’s Nursing Team), enabling their parents / families to take a break from their caring responsibilities.

We ensure our services are provide in a way that promotes a child’s development and mental health, paying particular attention to ensuring a positive environment where children can live, play, learn and where staff interact positively with children exposing them to sensitive and trusting relationships, ensuring their rights and dignity is always promoted and protected.

All support is provided based on each individual child’s needs, desires, and personal preferences to promote wellbeing and independence.

The service offers support with:

  • Personal Care
  • Nutrition and Hydration
  • Prescribed Medication
  • Mobility
  • Medical devices and monitoring equipment.
  • Transport to and from school / residential placements

The service is provided on a regular basis such as daily support sessions (frequently overnight) weekly or monthly and are flexible to promote the needs and wellbeing of both Parents / family and the child they look after.

This service is registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales.

Eligibility / Referral Process

There is no eligibility other than you must be under the age of 18 years and have a support need.

This service can receive referrals from:
Health & Social Care Professionals (funded placements)
Self-referrals/family and friends – for private arrangements.
